Red Tomato Market Mural

Whether Mount Eaton is your home or simply a place you enjoy visiting, it’s a part of our shared heritage here in southern Wayne County and the surrounding area.

To reflect the history of our town and display the memories we all share here in this friendly community, we’re proud to feature a mural inside Red Tomato Market that we commissioned to celebrate Mount Eaton’s past and present.

Working together with the Mount Eaton Historical Society, local artist Sue Kaufman, assisted by Deb Burick, Karen McRobie and Stephanie Lowe, set out to research, design and paint the mural. Measuring eight feet high and 132 feet long, the colorful artwork overlooks the entire store. It took Sue’s team more than 800 man hours to complete, and the response from the community has been overwhelming.

If you haven’t already, we hope you’ll come in and see it for yourself. In the meantime, click the above photo to see an overview of what is featured on the mural:

The mural can be viewed during regular store hours: Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We hope to see you soon!
